The Flowering Quince is an heirloom flowering shrub often seen in gardens of historic homes across the country. “Texas Scarlet” is a newer variety that is compact and spreading to 3ft.x3ft. Flowering Quince is one of the earliest plants to flower in the spring with a beautiful display of coral red flowers before the leaves emerge. This variety is unique in that also flowers again in mid summer mixed with the bright green leaves! It tolerates poor soils and is quite drought resistant. An excellent addition to any garden!
