Large deciduous drought tolerant shrub to 15’ but usually less and can be held at any height. It is native to hills and canyons from Colorado to the Grand Canyon to 9000ft. It has bright green foliage with large star-shaped white flowers in spring. It has an interesting branch pattern that adds to the landscape all winter. The white flowers are followed by edible purple fruits used by native people. There are many types of “Serviceberry”, but this is the true native seen in the west! Very drought tolerant and grows in poor soils. An absolute must-have for any water-wise landscape!
